Beautiful speaker with ok sound
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Lovely addition to a little record player setup. Vintage styling, sturdy switches, and size are absolutely perfect. Sound is very good, but not great. My sonos one sounds better for modern hip hop music. Nevertheless, the aesthetics of this piece are unmatched.

Outstanding Speaker!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Aside from the great looks of this speaker, the sound the Marshall Stanmore Bluetooth Speaker produces is amazing! The ease to operate via aux or bluetooth is an added benefit, and I would highly recommended this small speaker that packs a large punch!

Great sound
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally looked at the typical portable bluetooth speakers with lithium batteries. After listening to several, I was very disappointed by the sound quality, even for the speakers that were getting really good reviews. Because this Marshall Stanmore was in the same area of the store, I listened to it and found it to be far superior. The Stanmore has bass and treble controls to allow you to tweak the sound to your liking, something that is missing on most other small speakers. It also gets fairly loud for being so small. It terms of sound quality and volume, it will blow away the competition. While this speaker is portable and not that heavy, it is not small enough to put in a purse, and it does not come with a carrying strap. It also does not have a lithium battery, so it needs to be plugged in to be used. Having a lithium battery allows use away from an outlet, but the battery will one day fail, and most portable bluetooth speakers do not have a lithium battery that can be replaced, or easily replaced. So, when it fails, you will need to replace the speaker for most models. Also, lithium batteries need to charged and depleted periodically to maintain them. In any case, if you want something for the beach, the Stanmore is not what you want because it does not have a battery and is not waterproof. But if you want something for a lake house of ski cabin and you are driving there, the Stanmore is perfect. In terms of bulld quality, the Stanmore is very solid and high quality, way better than most portable bluetooth speakers. The Stanmore is between the Marshall Kilburn and Woburn in terms of size and sound quality (the Kilburn is the smaller, and I think it comes with a lithium battery that can be replaced). The sound quality of the Kilburn was less than I was looking for, and the Woburn was too large, which is how I ended up selecting the Stanmore. Marshall has some other small speakers for home use, but I have not seen them. In summary, I found the Stanmore to be small, but provide great sound for the size. I preferred the fact that it did not have a battery for my planned uses.

Music to my ears.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A creative timeless piece of art and mine is cream that makes it dreamy. That’s enough for looks. Let’s get to the soul of the matter and that’s the spirit of the Marshall Stanmore, paired with my iPhone EQ and its a match made in heaven. Sound quality is excellent. The Stanmore is in a class of its on. The next step up is the Woburn which I returned, maybe mines was defective, it was very unstable. The Stanmore is well balanced. I can get use to this, like forever after. Read the other 5 Stars reviews for more in depth details for me it was love in first sight and music to my ears. It’s a Bestbuy.

Just wow.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had been looking for awhile to replace my Denon shelf system. It had mission speakers and I think 70 watts... but what once was compact was now bulky and cumbersome. WIRES FOR DAYS. So I read a million reviews and narrowed it down to a few choices, the Sonos play 3 was one and the higher end Marshall unit. The Sonos really does the job well and blends in any environment and the Woburn Marshall had a few low points. SO... I went with the Stanmore and it is worth every penny. The style and build quality are top notch and way cool, the sound, the bass, just wow. To top it off you can plug a turntable into it. Go get one now.

Better Than Expected
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Recently I was doing a full room makeover in my house, creating a gym, and needed a music source. I wanted the source to fit on a shelf, be loud enough to "feel" the music, and sound "alive," and not like a thin small speaker. I saw this Marshall and it seemed to fit the bill. Bluetooth and auxiallry connection, larger than a normal personal bluetooth speaker, so not necessarily a speaker you carry around, but robust enough to be a music center piece in a room. It couldn't have been more perfect. This unit looks amazing, is built like a tank(i.e. heavy and substantial) and sounds fantastic. A full warm vibrant sound. I have played mostly heavy rock and soundtracks on it from both an mp3 player(via auxiliary)and my phone(via bluetooth) and it sounds amazing. I have had it cranked up a little past half of its total range and it is loud, clear, warm sounding and full. The bass is fantastic and not boomy, but very solid. The treble is clear and precise. The build is great as well. Being a former musician, it feels like an amp. The knobs are solid and have a "thick" turning feel to them, not overly "spinny" and cheap feeling. For my purposes this was a fantastic purchase. I have thought about adding a couple to other rooms it sounds so good. The ease of hooking up via bluetooth or auxiliary is so simple. The initial pairing is very simple. It's near perfect really. I also have seen people online hook this directly to a turntable which is cool. I personally have my turntable system all setup already but in a pinch for space I think this would work fantastically. I don't believe multiple units can be hooked together, though admittedly I have not thoroughly examined this option. If it could/can, man what an amazing system. This speaker comes with highest recommendation as a former musician and current audiophile. Don't overlook this unit, trust me. I would buy again, and am contemplating purchasing the other units in the series, as there is one smaller and one larger, for various rooms in my house.

Q: QuestionWhat is the difference between this & the stanmore II
Asked by Ritt.
- A:Answer The Stanmore II Bluetooth has had some upgrades when compared to the Stanmore BT: - the Stanmore II Bluetooth has some design changes (aesthetics) and you can use an app called Marshall Bluetooth to control the speaker - the Stanmore II Bluetooth uses Bluetooth 5.0 with Qualcomm® aptX™ while the Stanmore BT uses Bluetooth 4.0 with Qualcomm® aptX™ - the Stanmore II Bluetooth speakers can be used two at a time with one device to play in either Ambient (two speakers play the same audio synchronised) or Stereo (two speakers of the same size are coupled as a stereo pair) mode. Note that the Marshall Bluetooth App will only connect with the Acton II Bluetooth, Stanmore II Bluetooth and Woburn II Bluetooth speakers. It does not support any other Marshall Speakers (such as the Stanmore Bluetooth).
