No it isn&#39;t 8.1x8.1 why would anyone answer this and say it is. It&#39;s 78 inches by about 54 inches not even close to what is advertised. STAY AWAY FROM THIS!

Easy to pitch and very spacious. Two entrances so easy to get in and out of tent without having to climb over the other person(s). If you're over 6'2", I'd recommend a longer tent. I'm 5'10" with plenty of space above head and below feet when lying down.

I'm actually impressed with this product. Yes, the inside is only as big as a double cot.  It is not 8x8 feet. It's the size of a double cot because IT IS A DOUBLE COT TENT. If you are looking for a double cot tent, it is great. Yes, it does have an uncomfortable bar running down the middle. Guess what? Other name brand double cot tents that cost twice as much do also! I will describe the camping criteria I was trying to fulfill. If you are looking to fulfill the same criteria, then consider this product. I wanted something that I could sleep on as a double cot for my wife and I inside our big 9x13 cabin tent.  This works. You can unzip the screen house enclosure from the top and make an ordinary double cot. Or, you can leave the screen house top attached and set it up inside your big tent, because it has huge zipper doors on each side, that practically open the entire side, so that it is easy to get in and out, even when inside a bigger tent.  Second criteria: We might want to sleep under the stars and see everything.  If you do not put the rain fly on, this is a screened in double cot.  Third criteria:  Sometimes when on long trips we arrive very late to the camp site on a long trip, and we do not want to set up full camp at midnight. Or perhaps its a one night stay in route to a further destination, and we are not setting up full camp yet. Instead of setting up everything, we just pop up the instant cot tent and put on the rain fly and we have something to sleep in off the ground, ready to quickly pack up and continue the trip the next day.  Or, if you arrive too late to set up full camp, pop this up the first night and set up the big tent the next day when you have slept and its daylight.  Finally, if you arrive late and its raining, this pops up quickly.  Its off the ground. You can use it as a tent the first night and set up full camp the next day when the rain has stopped.  Overall, this is a very useful tool, that meets multiple tent camping situations.  Yes, you will need to buy camp pads to make it more comfortable.  But you will need to do that also for tent cots that cost twice as much.  For the price and quality, this is great if you are looking for a solution to the tent camping situations I described.

Great Product and Value

I haven't used it yet but iv set it up and it is comfortable beats laying on roots and rocks keeps you up off the ground keeps you away from moisture from the ground I live this product and would buy 20 more in a heart beat

2 man cot tent

This is a great tent if you want to see the stars with that someone special. I also bought the Ozark Trail one person cot tent and love that tent also.  Neither one of these tents are for hiking. I bought them for car camping or to take on my Trike and just bug out. I'm too old to sleep on the ground but young at heart and if I have this tent with me I can stop and stay anywhere.

I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 because I haven't tested it out yet.  First impression was VERY pleased beyond what I expected.  Very roomy!    I love how the rain fly goes all the way to the ground, which should help a lot in cool weather.  The center bar is noticable but I would use two twin air beds in it, or one for me with lots of extra space for my stuff.  HOPING TO USE IT SOON.

Tent worked well on our first camp out with it. I like the fact of being up off the ground in case of very wet weather. Also easy to sit down on to take boots on and off. The cot feature is a little better than sleeping on the hard ground and the ground does not suck your heat away. The rain fly stretches out to form a nice vestibule where you can store your gear. It is very easy to set up and break down just not very light so definitely not for hiking.  My only complaints are a little noisy when you move around on the cot while trying to sleep and the tent is not as long as advertised. It is only 6.5' long. But for the money it worked very well.

Nice Cot Tent

From the photos this tent was clearly not 8.1 ft. x 8.1 ft. but I was looking for a tent with a smaller foot print than my 4 person tent that would fit a full size air mattress and was off the ground. This tent measures 78.5 inches x 58 inches and has a wt. capacity of 45o lbs.  I took a chance based on the photos and it is the exact size of a full size air mattress. It does have a support that does protrude down the center but I haven't laid in it with an inflated mattress yet so it may not be an issue.  The fabric and screen are thick and appear to be of high quality and the workmanship is very good. If what I described suits your needs I give it a thumbs up.

Read before buying

I loved this tent used it quite a bit. However, the poles broke and that was very sad since its nearly impossible to fix. I do like the cot though i bought a big instsnt pop up style tent and use the cot unside of it. I like that the hold top portion of the tent zips off so i can still use it.

Not a bad purchase

I purchased this item thinking it would compare to some other other competitors on the market and that the price was reasonable. Once I got the cot tent and set it up, I realized that the cot wasn't flat as other competitors, it has a bar that runs down the center of the bed that separates the occupants, and a bar going across from side to side at your hips causing discomfort. I tried putting a twin air mattress on the cot but it wouldn't fit to well causing it to lean to one side. I'm disappointed that Ozark Trail didn't better design this unit to be more comfortable for the consumers. I'm seriously think about selling it and buying a Kamp-Rite Cot Tent.
