At this point I have to believe it uses the same build as the 600, using the same body and motor. It has a raised 6 qt stainless bowl, just like the 600, it has a power hub just like the 600, it has a 1 year hassle free warranty the same as the 600, it has an aluminum dough hook, it has a steel wisk, it has an aluminum beater, all the same as the 600, it doesn't have a pour shield ($20), it doesn't have a knob on the bowl adjusting handle, it only comes in 3 colors. It's essentially a professional 600 mixer with a few small omissions at a very reasonable price. Many large companies commission an exclusive model that they can sell at a reduced price, these models usually have a few differences or less choices available. From everything I can see, this is far from a "hand me down", and is essentially the same as a 600 without the pour shield, without a plastic knob, and with little color choice for about $100 in savings and that's if you decide to add a pour shield for $20. Seems a good buy to me, and you WILL get what you pay for: a 600 mixer for $100 less. see less
